Last week, being 'Remembrance week,' we screened the Powell and Pressburger classic 1946 film 'A Matter of Life and Death'.

Camilla Lowe from TimeLine and author of 'Just Like The End of the World' joined us for a fascinating Q&A prior to the film, to tell us something about how the London blitz had affected the lives of local residents.

We were also joined by the lovely Mark Sangster, fresh from his work as Timon in Disney's 'The Lion King,' to read to us the Andrew Marvell poem 'To His Coy Mistress' which David Niven quotes at the start of 'A Matter of Life and Death'.

Tragedy, poetry and technicolor escapism all in one night!

Thank you to our reader Mark Sangster, Stoke Newington Town Hall, James Brown and our lovely audience.
