Starting on Friday, February 10th, we will be resurrecting bloody classics like The Reptile, Frankenstein Created Woman and The Vampire Lovers and bringing them face to face with their 21st century counterparts: Wake Wood, Let Me In and the eagerly awaited The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe.
And our guests? Well, that would be telling.
We are thrilled to be working with Hammer as they have been the champion of Gothic literature for decades with their magnificent adaptations of novels such as 'Dracula' and Frankenstein' and now, resurrected and reinvigorated, they keep that tradition alive with the marvelous 'Let Me In' and 'The Woman in Black'.
Finally, and for long time Hammer fans maybe most importantly, we can announce that Hammer's forthcoming definitive version of Terence Fisher's 1958 Gothic masterpiece Dracula will receive a World Premiere Screening on Saturday 18th February at 3.00pm at the flicker club presents Hammer, as part of the VAULT festival in London. You can read more about this on the Hammer blog here.
As is flicker club tradition, the film posters will be reinterpreted for our audience. 17 limited edition posters for the 17 Hammer film we are screening at The Vault, are being created by our very own Shiv, the first of which you can see below and the remaining ones you can devour at your leisure here over the coming weeks...
In addition, the fabulous Graham Humphreys is creating a poster for the flicker club present Hammer season. This poster will encapsulate everything that is Hammer.
'British Film Posters - An illustrated history' (BFI) say that 'Graham... has some claim to be the last great name among Britain's film poster artists'. And its true. His work is iconic and he's doing one exclusively for us for this event.
And where is this madness taking place? At The Vault Festival in the dark dank vaults of the Old Vic Tunnels ... where else..
Guests to DIE for in the perfect location.
... are you sitting uncomfortably...? Then we'll begin...
